October 15th is observed every year as the birth anniversary of our late Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam who strongly advocated 'reading' more as a necessity rather than just a mere hobby. Books not only inspire us, but they also provide knowledge, so to highlight this day's importance and to inculcate the reading habits at SJC on October 13th this day was celebrated. Various activities were conducted.
The Std IX teachers, Ms. Misha, Miss Genevieve and Miss Linnet conducted the school assembly with a song on reading composed by Miss Misha and Miss Linnet spoke on our late president Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam.
Miss Jessie conducted a Copy Writing Competition for Std V, Reading Competition for Std VI, Poster Making Competition for Std VII, Quiz on Authors for Std VIII and Scrabble Competition for Std X.
All the Winners were awarded a certificate by the school.
