25th January is celebrated as National Voters' Day throughout India every year. The date was declared as the National Voters' Day in the year 2011 as the Election Commission of India was founded on 25th January 1950. The day aims at increasing the enrolment of voters, especially encouraging participation of newly eligible young voters and ensuring universal adult franchise. Information about the importance of this day was shared with the students in the morning assembly.
Std IX: National Voters day is celebrated on 25th January to mark the foundation of the Election Commission in India. Students of SJCHS of Std IX took part in various activities which are as follows:
- Rangoli making on National Voters Day
- Poster making highlighting the importance of voting
- Speech encouraging people to vote
- Reels and slogans
Students very enthusiastically participated in the above activities. It also brought about an awareness among them that the right to vote is a basic right and the importance of voting.
