This festival is celebrated on February 19 to celebrate the birth anniversary of Shivaji, the first Chhatrapati and founder of the Maratha Empire.

On the occasion of Shivaji Jayanti (February 19, 2021), the students of Std VB along with the guidance of their class teacher presented the following acts to the rest of the class.

The class teacher also shared videos of THE LIFE OF SHIVAJI MAHARAJ and his contribution towards the welfare of the people of Maharashtra. She explained the values and practical lessons that should be learnt from a great leader like him.
19th February, 2021, an auspicious day for the citizens of Maharashtra, the birth of a great legend Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Being a History teacher, on the occasion of Shivaji Jayanti the teacher decided to grab this opportunity and conduct a session for the students for Std VII. The teacher uploaded a one-hour movie in the standard VII History Google Classroom on the 19th of February. Whereas, on the 18th of February, since it was her History class, she conducted a session and a discussion for the students of Std VII. This year, as the students of Std VII learnt as well as obtained a whole lot of information about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, this was a great opportunity for the teacher to speak about him and throw light on this auspicious day. Around 170-180 students attended the class.
The teacher started the session with a brief introduction about the event-Shivaji Jayanti followed by, a short video that spoke about the significance of celebrating Shivaji Jayanti in Maharashtra and a very short musical video based on Shivaji. On completing the video presentation, we then went ahead and presented a power point presentation to the students, that once again gave them a brief background about Shivaji and his life. The last part of the activity was a short online quiz. The quiz comprised questions based on Shivaji’s life, his skills and his values.
The activity ended in a way where the students were asked to pick up at least one value that they appreciate or have learnt from the great legend Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Many students came forward and responded. It was indeed, amazing to hear the students responding to the values that they would like to follow on a daily basis.
